According to the full release notes, the latest driver update adds support for the next-gen AMD Fidelity Super Resolution technology, also known as the FSR4 Redstone. In case you missed it, the new AMD FSR4 Redstone is powered by machine learning (ML), bringing Neural Radiance Caching, ML-accelerated Ray Regeneration, and ML-accelerated Frame Generation. Of course, the AMD FSR4 Redstone is only supported on Radeon RX 9000-series RDNA 4-based graphics cards, while FSR RDNA 3- and RDNA 2-based graphics cards will have to stick with FSR 3.1.
In addition to AMD FSR4 Redstone support, the newest AMD Software Adrenalin Edition 25.12.1 WHQL driver adds support for AMD Radeon AI PRO R9600D and Radeon AI PRO R9700S, which are expected to be unveiled at the CES 2026 show. The Radeon AI PRO R9700S is said to be a server-optimized version of the R9700 with passive cooling, while the R9600D is a more affordable version, similar to what AMD did with the Pro W7900D graphics card.
The newest driver update also fixe several issues including an issue where Radeon Anti-Lag 2 is not available while playing Counter-Strike 2 on some Radeon graphics cards like the Radeon RX 9070XT, intermittent crash while using some high-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 displays during standby, application freezing with in-game Radeon Overlay, and intermittent crash while playing ARC Raiders on Blue Gate map on Radeon RX 9000 series graphics cards.
You can find more information as well as download the new driver, over at AMD's support page.
