Brings new M.2 and USB 3.1 connectivity

Gigabyte has announced its new AMD 990X chipset based motherboard that will be a part of Gigabyte's G1.Gaming lineup and bring modern connectivity to AMD's ageing AM3+ socket, including USB 3.1 and 20Gbps M.2 PCIe x4 slot, the Gigabyte GA-990X-Gaming SLI. 

New FM2+ and AM3+ moterboards incoming as well

During CES 2016 show, AMD has announced the new flagship Kaveri-based APU, the AMD A10-7890K, as well as an announced that new FM2+ and AM3+ motherboards with USB 3.1 and M.2 should be incoming.

MSI has now officially unveiled its new 990FX Gaming socket AM3+ motherboard, which is currently, at least as far as we know, the only socket AM3+ motherboard with USB 3.1 ports.
