Periscope 50MP camera not enough for DXOMARK throne

Honor has officially unveiled its new 30 series smartphones, the Honor 30, Honor 30 Pro, and the Honor 30 Pro+, and the flagship comes with 6.57-inch 90Hz OLED panel and Sony's IMX700 50-megapixel main sensor on the rear, but it was not enough to dethrone the Huawei P40 Pro on DXOMARK.

Kirin 990 4G is significantly smaller

The Kirin 990 5G was finally announced by CEO Richard Yu today and it is a 10.3 billion transistor three CPU cluster SoC with an integrated 5G. Future phones, including the Mate 30 Pro 5G will use it. A Huawei executive confirmed to Fudzilla  that the 4G version of the chip is not merely the same SoC with 5G bit disabled.

Global launch in Munich

Huawei Mate 30 will come earlier than most expected. The company has sent out invitations for a global launch on September 19, just slightly more than two weeks from now.

TSMC has announced that it is doing a test production of  5nm EUV chips, but real production starts in 2020. A long-term investigation leads us to believe that most chips launching in the latter part of this year or early next year will, unlike the UK, remain on 7nm.
