Cost more than my PC

Western Digital has released a new model in its My Book Duo series of external hard drives that tops out at 44TB.

For $1,499.99 you get a RAID-optimised drive which can be used a single RAID-1 drive for data mirroring or as two 22TB independent drives.

It has two USB ports and 256-bit AES Hardware Encryption with password protection software. It plays nice with Windows and Mac PCs and if it were not for the price it would be brilliant.

If you can cut back on your expectations Western Digital has announced the 22TB My Book drive. While it's not made as a RAID device, it still has 256-bit AES hardware encryption along with backup software for Windows and Mac PCs. It is also affordable with a $599.99 price tag.
