Coming in a PCIe add-in-card form-factor and available in capacities of 400GB and 800GB, the Corsair Neutron NX500 series SSD is not simply an M.2 SSD placed on a PCIe adapter but rather a PCIe SSD built from the ground up, with all components soldered to the PCB. 

The HHHL (half height, half length) PCB features 15nm MLC ANND chips as well as the Phison E7 PCIe controller, all cooled by the carbon-fiber design heatsink as well as a backplate that back chips cooled as well.

In addition, the Corsair NX500 comes with 1GB or 2GB of DDR3 DRAM cache, depending on the version and promises sequential read and write performance of up to 3,000MB/s and 2,400MB/s with random read and write performance peaking at 300k and 270k IOPS, respectively.

The Corsair Neutron NX500 series is now available with a price set at US $319.99 for the 400GB version and US $649.99 for the 800GB version. Earlier rumors also suggested that a 1.6TB version should be coming soon as well.
