The US and British foreign ministers agreed to promote the development of “additional trusted 5G solutions”.

Secretary of State Michael R. Pompeo spoke with UK Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab and discussed the UK’s decision to prevent the use of what the US insists is “insecure technology”.

“The Secretary and Foreign Secretary agreed to work together to promote the development of additional trusted 5G solutions”, State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus said in a statement, providing no further details.

However, that seems to suggest that neither of them have trusted solutions, or they would not need to work together to make them happen.

There are 5G solutions out there, so the need for “additional solutions” suggest that these too are not good enough in some way.
